Fitness + Healthy Eating Equals Weight Loss, Get started Now!

We’re now a year and a half into this crazy pandemic, and you’re still putting on the extra weight and not exercising regularly. Well, it’s time to make a change right now. Pull yourself together, look to the future and start burning those calories. It’s easy to be healthy, look your best, and feel great mentally.

Here are a few tips to getting in shape, shedding those Covid pounds, and starting to get a grip on the new normal. The most important thing to remember is to love yourself and be patient.

Increase Your Daily Movement.

Just add 45 minutes of movement into each day. Take a walk outside. Go to the mall and walk around—Park at the farthest spot when you go grocery shopping. Walk around your backyard for all I care but get out there and move your body. Try to get in at least 5000 steps a day. Most fitness apps will tell you to get in 10,000 steps a day. That’s amazing if you can do it, but if you’re starting, start with 5,000 steps. Every iPhone tracks your daily steps, so no excuses.

Drink More Water.

Throw away all the sugary sodas, sparkling waters, and concentrated juices. Just drink water, H2O. Add fresh lemon, fresh lime, mint, orange, cucumber, whatever flavor you like to jazz it up. Water will help you flush all the toxins out of your body. And water helps keep you hydrated and keeps your skin young and glowing. Suppose you can drink 64 oz. Daily, you will see an overall improvement. That’s 4, 16.9 oz bottles of water daily.

Food + Caloric Intake.

This one is straightforward, calories in, calories out. It’s one thing if you want to maintain your weight, but if you’re going to lose weight, you must have a weight loss plan that includes a specific caloric daily intake and movement for burning a specific number of calories. If you are on a daily caloric plan of 1000 calories per day, include 45 minutes of exercise, and drink 64 ounces of water, you will lose weight.

Accountability Coach.

If you have been struggling with shedding extra weight, having an accountability coach can be very helpful. Ask as many people as you can in your life to check in on you each day. Let them know you’re starting a new health + wellness journey, and you could use their help. Have them text you with a motivational message, have them call you, and tell you how wonderful you are, daily affirmations. Ask them to go for a walk with you. If you feel the urge for a cheeseburger + French fries, call your supports and have them talk you off the cliff. Whatever support you get, please take it.

Love Yourself Through the Journey.

Whether you have 5 pounds to lose, 30 pounds, or 100 pounds, you can do it. Regardless of whatever roadblocks you have experienced in the past, let today be a new day, a new start. All you must do is follow the plan, and you will succeed. If you fall off the wagon one day, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back on the next day. Be consistent. Be mindful. Stay strong.
