Try to Add More Movement to Your Daily Life

  • Try to increase your daily steps.
  • Take a walk.
  • Park at the farthest parking spot in the lot.
  • Take 10 minutes and walk up and down the steps in your home 5x.
  • If you have a treadmill or bike at home, go on for 15 minutes a day.
  • Put on your favorite music and just dance for 15 minutes.
  • When binging on your favorite Netflix show, stand and walk in place while watching.
  • Put down a towel or mat in an open area of your home, and do sit ups, push-ups, planks, crunches, stretching.
  • Stand in front of a wall in your home and do wall push-ups.

Think about what you eat. Think about it. The more mindful you are with your eating and trying to build a healthier relationship with food the better. It will make a big difference for you.

  • Ask yourself, Are you hungry?
  • What portion will satisfy you?
  • Do you really want to eat that piece of chocolate cake?
  • Do you need that piece of chocolate cake?
  • Is there something else that you can eat, that would be much healthier, and make you feel better for eating it, like an apple with peanut butter, or celery and carrots.

Are you getting enough greens in your diet?

  • Green foods are full of vitamins and nutrition
  • Asparagus, broccoli, spinach, kale, cabbage, leafy greens
  • Consume more salads with lite dressing
  • Eating more greens will keep your body more healthy

Portion Control + Selecting the Right Foods

  • Always watch your portions. Americans are notorious for eating very large portions of food. This is not necessary. They say that the first few bites of any food, quenches your appetite.
  • Eat 3-5 small meals throughout the day to reduce hunger pangs.
  • Try to get fiber in your diet each day which helps keep you full
  • If you eat that cheeseburger and fries one day, don’t do it again for another few weeks
  • Eat what you like but eat less of it.
